  1. Just send your acc case manager/administrator an email with what you have written in your post. If it does affect your erc i'm guessing (i'm no expert) they'll come to some arrangement with you on how much to deduct (abate) from your weekly erc. It's better you telling them about the holiday pay than them (ACC) finding out down the track (IRD), At least you are showing them that you're up front with them and expect them to do the same. Would be great if you let us know what they reply with. Always communicate with the ACC or any of their service provider contractors in writing. Cheers If whatever happens you will have an opportunity to have the decision (about your holiday pay) reviewed.

  3. Welcome. For your first post it is an extremely interesting one. First of all. I'm far from being an expert ... in fact your user-name would have been a better choice for me had I thought of it lol But anyway I always thought it was the higher of the two but not sure how your change of jobs in between would affect that Do you have any correspondence from ACC stating/implying that your incapacity has/had miraculously healed and you were fit for work? What about your GP, what do they think/say about this? Great question dumbo

  8. Quoted from The $8m doctor: ACC pays for 'wholly speculative diagnosis that does not accord with the clinical facts', judge says Brad Flahive10:09, Dec 16 2018 ACC has paid a doctor $8 million in fees and expenses for second opinions of beneficiaries' injury diagnoses – despite one judge saying the pain specialist is "flying in the face of the medical evidence". The agency regularly calls in Christchurch's Dr Bill Turner to reassess patients who have been granted ACC entitlements for chronic pain; court judgments show ACC consistently uses Turner's opinions to cancel entitlements or cover. In some cases, Turner considers the pain is in the sufferer's head. In most cases, there is no question the patients are in severe pain: the only question is whether the pain is caused by injury – or is a vague "syndrome" as Turner sometimes argues. On numerous occasions .... read the full article here - https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/107963931/the-8m-doctor-acc-pays-for-wholly-speculative-diagnosis-that-does-not-accord-with-the-clinical-facts-judge-says Dr Bill Turner is only the tip of the iceberg!

    Lime Scooters

Found this excellent opinion on another site that I need to share with everyone The writer is Chris https://www.neighbourly.co.nz/message/view/55722440 I hope the writer will consider joining this forum and sharing his views and opinions about, not only Lime Scooters but ACC as well. ACC operates on a No Fault system. To cut to the chase, it's the NZ ACC Levy Payers that foot the injury bills including E.R.C (earning related compensation) My opinion is that if a product and or service used in NZ is proved/known to cause any level of injury, the importer/manufacturer/service provider should be required to pay a huge percentage of the cost of the ACC claim and charge their clients/customers extra money which goes direct to the ACC Levy Payers fund/account to off-set costs associated with the injury causing whatever. An example - NZ tobacco/cigarette smokers pay an extra tax on any tobacco product which I believed was to help the District Health Boards look after smokers when/if their health deteriorates The same system could also work on Lime scooters. The more people use them, the more money goes into the ACC levy payers account/fund. Why did Lime not cease hiring out these scooters everywhere as soon as they became aware of the issue? One, maybe Two "Brakes Locking" issues should have been enough for LIME to hit the pause button until the serious issue was fixed and tested! Since Lime Scooters suddenly appeared in NZ I have been waiting for that breaded News Flash that a person has been killed while using a Lime Scooter! I hope I never see the day. Just a note, Its no use asking some users/riders of the Lime Scooters to slow down and ride responsibly some wouldn't give two hoots on how many old folk and kids they hit - some more than others think they're indispensable when riding a lime. Until its too late. sadly next is rip I'll try and make contact with someone at Lime and invite them to join and participate in these discussions.

Lime e-scooters ordered off Auckland streets over wheel-locking issue https://www.stuff.co.nz/auckland/110806313/lime-escooters-ordered-off-auckland-streets-following-safety-concerns And the ACC Levy Payers, that's you and I and most of New Zealand (compulsory levies on wages, fuel etc etc) pay for the treatment of the injuries and compensate those injured for lost earnings etc! I totally agree .... BAN LIME SCOOTERS!
  13. Women stand naked on Auckland's Karangahape Road in protest of police inaction after alleged assault Hannah Martin and Charlotte Carter13:13, Feb 09 2019 https://www.stuff.co.nz/auckland/110471269/women-stand-naked-on-aucklands-karangahape-road-in-protest-of-police-inaction-after-alleged-assault Jazmine Rose Phillips and Kyah Dove stood naked on a busy Auckland road as a protest after an alleged assault. The victim of an alleged sexually-motivated assault stood naked on Friday on Auckland's Karangahape Rd in protest, after she says police ignored her calls for help. Auckland performance artist Jazmine Rose Phillips stood hand-in-hand with her friend, Kyah Dove at the entrance to St Kevins' Arcade, covered in fake blood and with black tape over their mouths. Other women were handing out flyers to passersby, detailing the reasons for the protest. The flyer stated the women were physically assaulted by a man on Karangahape Rd on January 21. Phillips said a man began "doing sexual gestures" towards her and her partner after they had hugged on a street corner. She hit his car window, then he jumped out of his vehicle and struck her across the head, before trying to hit her partner, she said. This flier was handed to passersby by people at the scene. The pair got away and asked a passerby to stand with them while they phoned 111. They then gave police a description of the man who attacked them, along with his car registration number, Phillips said. On the phone, they were told there would be CCTV footage, and police would contact them that evening or follow up the next day. But they never heard from police, Phillips said. "The officer at the counter made [my partner] tell the story in a line in front of people, then after she told the story he said 'we can't do anything unless you both come in'," Phillips said. Phillips' partner left the police station in tears. "I walked away from that experience feeling really hurt, powerless and unsupported with a lot of shame and fear," Phillips said. She decided to protest on K Rd to process her trauma through art. "I kept hearing stories from all my female friends about their similar stories of sexual harassment and reporting rape, far more traumatic stories than mine and decided this is what I would do." She said the protest prompted an outpouring of gratitude from women who confessed they went through similar experiences and it was "amazing to not feel alone", but also awful to know that so many people shared her grief. A police sergeant approached the two women after they had been standing on the street for quite some time and gave Phillips his card, she said. "He said, 'when you're ready to talk I would like to further explore the case', but for me that was far too late, I wanted them to arrive when I made a 111 call. "Last week a 57-year-old women died in her home and Grace [Millane] was found in a bush near my house. What I would like to know is at what point do [police] start arriving after calls?" A bystander who was meeting friends for lunch came across the protest, which she said made her "pretty emotional". Lots of people stopped to look at the "amazingly brave" women and to take flyers, she said. "The women being there on a busy street, naked, covered in fake blood with the tape over their mouths was a pretty powerful statement," she said. "I almost cried." Auckland District Commander Superintendent Karyn Malthus said the matter was "being followed up urgently". Police were contacting the two women to discuss their concerns with them, she said. "We understand they have concerns about an incident where one of the women was assaulted in January, and the way it was handled. "We need to establish the exact circumstances around the incident and what happened when they reported it. "It is very concerning that these women feel let down by police and we are doing everything we can to establish exactly what happened, work with the victims and address their concerns." 16. Great question! This is what you, or indeed anyone in New Zealand needs to do if injured in an accident. Visit a health provider This could be at your local medical centre, or hospital emergency department (A&E)., your doctor, or physiotherapist etc. The health provider Will fill out all the appropriate forms and will make/lodge the injury claim to the ACC on your behalf. The ACC will Pay a little bit of your appointment If the ACC cover your injury they'll pay part of your appointment to your health provider. Naturally you'll need to pay for the rest. Check with the health provider for their fees. NZ Community Services Card holders or dependents (14 - 17 years of age) of a NZ Community Services Card holder, may get a lower-cost visit to the GP. Most GPs should also offer zero-fees for children under 14 years. The ACC will confirm if you’re covered They will send you a letter to confirm if they will cover your injury or injuries. They usually do this within a week. Make sure you give the ACC your mobile number or email address because then they can send you information telling you what's happening with your claim much sooner. The ACC website states "If we don't cover your injury, we’ll let you know why." Yeah right! If they spin some crap that your injury is "Deterioration" and or related to old age etc tell them they're full of crap! Then come back here and join us (it's free) and be part of our ACCforum community. Find out how the ACC can support you If you need ongoing support from the ACC, they'll likely assign you a case owner. If you are lucky enough to get an honest/decent case owner/manager they'll help you get the appropriate support you may need and sort out any problems. Good luck. You might even get weekly compensation if you can’t work The ACC should also help with your income. If you can't work because of an injury that they failed to find an excuse to decline "cover" on, the ACC can help with your income. Good luck in your adventure. You're always welcome to come back here and join us for some support, advice, and resources that at the end of the day hopefully leads you to gaining/regaining your rightful ACC cover and entitlements instead of having to go begging at Work & Income New Zealand. You should not treat the ACC or any of their Service Providers as friends! Believe me, they are not your friends.

As far as I am aware the thread/topic that Warren Forster started in that other forum is still there. Well, some of it remains. It is titled "Blurb's Story" and was in that forum's "Personal Stories" section. Blurb's Story for the first part was a very busy topic/thread. Warren gave a running commentary on his interactions with some individuals in high places within the ACC empire. When it became clear that what Warren was publishing (his interactions with ACC) was really starting to piss them at the ACC off the topic/thread was attacked with abuse slander defamatory comments etc etc to force the then admin of that forum to remove hundreds of posts. Why that admin didn't put a stop to the trolls when it first started is still a mystery.
